Sree Gokulam SNGM Arts & Science College, Valamangalam, has announced a series of impactful events to commemorate International Women’s Day on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. The day’s programming, organized by the college’s Women Cell and NSS Unit, focuses on themes of civic contribution, leadership, and health awareness.
The event series will begin with a formal gathering at 09:30 AM in the College Auditorium. The college is honored to welcome Ms. N. Leelamani, Rtd. District Judge, as the Chief Guest for this opening session. Reflecting the overarching event theme #GiveToGain, Ms. Leelamani, known for her distinguished legal career and contributions to the judiciary, will address the students and faculty on the significance of women's empowerment and public service. This session is hosted in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
Following the inaugural ceremony, the college will pivot to a vital health initiative: a Cancer Awareness Session focusing on early detection. This session, scheduled for 11:30 AM, also in the College Auditorium, is organized by the Women Cell in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS).
The keynote speaker for the health awareness session is Dr. Sinto M S, PhD, a renowned Consultant Molecular Geneticist from the Genomics Department of DDRC Agilus Pathlabs Limited, Ernakulam. Dr. Sinto will deliver a presentation titled “Cancer: Know the Signs,” providing critical information on understanding symptoms and the importance of early diagnosis.
